Tomar / Alcobaça
Tomar it’s knowned by the “Templar city” and it’s only one hour of drive from Lisbon.
The main attraction is The Convent of Christ. Inside this Convent you may find the “Charola”, a round place, normally used by the Templars as a private oratory.
The Historic centre of Tomar is also by itself a joy to visit.
Alcobaça has this name due to the union of two rivers, Alcoa and Baça.
Alcobaça Monestry is the first gothic construction in Portugal built in XII century.
Here is where Pedro and Inês, one of the most known love story’s in Portugal, are finally together and resting. Their tombs are kwon as a piece of art.
